Duo Cordefiato - Pictures

When we selected some of our favorite pieces from the 20th and the 21st century for this CD, we realized that we had turned to the music of the composers who were strongly inspired by the cultural tradition, the musical folklore or the nature of their own homelands. The only exceptions are the last two pieces of the recording: a Spanish capriccio Bonjour, Monsieur Picasso and a Charleston. In spite of being written by a Slovak composer they sound truly "Spanish" and "American".

We named this recording "Pictures" because all these picturesque pieces evoke images of great landscapes, people or nations of the world.
